Iowans’ hurt at work often do not know what their basic rights are. This article provides workers injured in Iowa with some basic information about their rights under Iowa’s workers’ compensation laws, including what benefits they should receive, how their weekly check is calculated and much more.

Electric Scooters: An Economical Travel Alternative

Gas price may take years to flatten out so you may want to consider an electric scooter for transportation. They are a cost effective way to travel and we have the reasons why.

Electric scooters are becoming a popular, alternative form of personal transport. With gas prices rising all the time an electric scooter is a much more economical way of traveling from point A to B.

The first electric scooters on the market were designed to meet the needs of people who had a disability that made it difficult for them to walk more than a very short distance. Over time the idea of a personal electric vehicle appealed to a larger number of people, most of whom did not have a disability.

Health Insurance: What To Look For In A Policy

With the cost of health insurance going through the roof it is important to understand your policy. Take a look and see that the policy you have meets all of your needs.

Health Insurance generally refers to a policy that covers medical expenses, but can also be used to describe policies for disability or long term care.  The main premise is that the individual will pay a small periodic premium in advance of necessary medical care and the medical insurance will pay all or most of the unexpected, large medical bill at the time the care is needed.  What costs are the individual’s responsibilities?

Disability Insurance For The Long Term

Disability insurance covers you for an extended period of time. Should you be injured or take ill and as a result be unable to perform the duties of your employment, you will be covered under short term disability, then long term disability insurance will cover you. The coverage can be for a period ranging up to five years or until the disabled individual turns sixty five.

Long term disability insurance is often provided by your employer as part of your benefits package. If you purchase it on your own, the benefits are tax free.
