Dog breeding isn’t a simple process, it is often quite complex, tiring and expensive. Here is the dog breeding information needed to be successful.
Available online is an abundance of information for anyone interested in dog breeding. The problem comes in when there is just too much information to go through. I thought I’d give a breakdown of what you’re going to need to know. It isn’t as simple as putting two dogs together and you have babies, it’s a lot more complicated
- Find a reputable stud dog. Make sure you check around with others that this owner is good and has dogs that are good.
- Make sure the dogs have a clean bill of health. Make sure your dog and the stud dog are completely clean of any diseases. This includes cancer. Don’t forget to make sure the dogs have no STDs.
- The best time to breed dogs is after they have matured a bit. Usually this takes 2 years.
- When you’re breeding the dogs , make sure you do it at the stud dogs place. This is just how it works in the mating of dogs.
- After breeding wait a few weeks and take your dog to the vet to verify she is pregnant.
- Make sure you get all your puppies the necessary shots. This is important because one diseased dog can disease all your dogs. These are also required if you plan to sell them.
