Niche affiliate marketing is nothing more than finding a market or “niche” online and then promoting products or services to it. Someone came up with the term “niche market” because it was meant to be a secret, obscure market that got lots of traffic, made lots of sales, but hardly anyone knew about it. Hey, there are still some of those out there, but I wouldn’t spend all my time digging for them if I were you. Simply find something that you’re interested in, that you know a lot about and research the market. If there’s enough traffic there to make regular sales that will give you a decent income then go into that market.

You’ll want to make sure that there are already at least a few people there making sales. Competition can be a good thing because if other people are already having success in the market then you know that you can too, as long as you don’t try to promote something “off the wall”. A good rule of thumb is to stick to what’s already being sold and you’ll never go wrong.

You don’t necessarily have to sell affiliate products to a niche either, although they’re a great place to start. What I mean is that if you have success selling an affiliate product or service by sending traffic to someone else’s website then why not create your own product in that niche and sell it instead? By doing this you’ll already be fairly certain that your product will sell because you’ve tested a similar affiliate program and this way you get to keep 100% of the money instead of just a commission. Also, you could create your own army of affiliates to sell YOUR product for you.

Niche affiliate marketing is a great way to get started in internet marketing, but at some point you really need to have your own product. Why not test your niches with affiliate products first? Something to consider.
