Realtors Have Hearth!

The National Association of Realtors has over 1.3 million members as of today. And Realtors share their commissions in many ways that you will never hear or read about, so I will share some of these with you.

The real estate community has donated over $12million to Katrina victims to date.

Donated over $1.5million to tsunami victims.

Realtors on all levels partner with Habitat for Humanity and donate money, time, blood, sweat and tears.

National Association of Realtors donated $1million the day after 9/11 which eventually grew to over $8 million.

Realtor’s give “Good Neighbor Awards”—Agents who volunteer their personal time and monies to build stronger communities.

Realtor Associations—Most of the local associations have an ongoing scholarship program for qualified applicants.

National Association of Realtors—Provides to real estate companies and brokers a field guide for establishing charitable foundations.

Realtors contribute to a Political Action Committee to lobby Congress on both a national and state level to protect Realtor and consumer interests.

The generosity of Realtors always astounds the public. Whenever there is any type of disaster, even remotely involving housing and homes, the Realtors are the first to step up to the plate, and the rest follow. Maybe it is because they work to achieve the American Dream for their customers every day. And with the market environment today, that is not an easy task. The media only paints a gloom and doom picture every day in the newspaper and on the television. There is a widespread concern, that many agents, fearful of their future in real estate, may leave the profession this year. What a waste!

Many sellers have expressed the fact that Realtors make loads of money and all they do is open the door to properties. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Believe me, without agents involved in deals, the percentages of closed transactions would definitely drop. Agents are instrumental in negotiating the selling price between the buyer and seller, negotiating through inspections, compiling information for appraisers, keeping tabs on the mortgage process, and supervising and insuring completion of repairs prior to closing. So much work is done behind the scenes that buyers and sellers are never witness to.

Just a note to thank all Realtors who devote their days (and often, their nights and weekends) to help others in their quest for homes and housing.
